Demo update - Visual overhaul & Tina's arc


Summary

The default Sugarcube look wasn’t doing it anymore, so I spent some time reworking how the game looks. A bunch of stuff has been changed to give the game a more unique look, without being too intrusive. Things should look better on smaller screens now as well (so playing on your phone without having to scroll a mile everytime is now possible).

In terms of content, this update adds the rest of Tina’s story. A few encounters with her have been added, during which your action will play a major role in how she ends up. Keep in mind that she can only be encountered once per run! There’s also a small new generic event to be found while exploring, which can raise your willpower. This update adds about 5K words.

Changelog

  • Tina: new lewd encounter while exploring (once you’ve helped her out).
  • Tina: the rest of her story is now complete. The continuation of her arc starts when you encounter a merry band. There’s three possible endings, depending on how nice you play it.
  • New (uncommon) generic event in the Rift.
  • Replaced the UI bar on the left by a sleeker bar at the top of the screen.
  • Added a setting to toggle portraits on or off.
  • Changed the default font. Also added a setting to choose alternative fonts, if you want different look.
  • The Journal is now in a menu of its own, and is a bit more informative (notifications & clearer quest progression tracking).
  • Moved all menus to modals/pop-ups, so no more switching passages to navigate menus.
  • A plethora of visual updates, including new icons and tweaked colours, to give the game a more unique feeling.
